So…do you own a local business where you only deliver services to people, like a plumber?
Do your customers come to you for your services and products like a beauty salon?
Maybe you have a Pizza shop where you deliver to your customers and they likewise
drive to your location to make purchases.
No matter what local business products or services you offer, one thing is for
for certain….getting one of the three (3) Google Places, Maps positions is a huge
advantage in a competitive situation. Some Social Media Management (SMM)
and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Pro’s state that Google Places top position
steals-away 60% or the Organic (free) Google Search Results Traffic!
Organic free traffic amounts to the equivalent of being handed a $10,000
check. Think about it. If you are a local business owner…How much do you
spend per year on off line advertising like coupons co-ops, ads and flyers.
The thing is that coupons are not as targeted as when somebody is looking
for you online and are pre-sold! Bottom line…you need a website that links
up to your Google Places listing if you hope to be in the top 3 where the 60%
of customers call.
You see…Google will award the top positions to the business owners that prove
they are the most-qualified to be on top. You basicly have to interview for the
position by providing a great website with relevant content and lot’s of actual
photos of your staff, the location and people at work! There are over 250
local citation brands that will help this listing like, Homeadvisor, Yelp and Yellow.
This seems to imply that a plumber needs to be great at online marketing,
especially if there are 20 local plumbers fightin for 3 spots! Of course there
are tips and tricks of the trade that no online marketing pro will give away.
